Brighton Pride will take place over the weekend 4th August - 7th August

There will be changes to our services over the weekend and this post will be updated with the latest information as we get closer to the event

The following is information for diversions on Saturday the 5th August

Road Closures

The Clock Tower North Street is closed 10:45-14:30
Old Steine Closed 10:45-14:30
Bus Lanes closed 10:30-16:00
St James’ Street is closed all day
Sealife/Palace Pier Roundabout is closed all day
Preston Road between Stanford Avenue & Preston Drove is closed all day
London Road-Oxford Street closed 10:30-16:00 & 21:00-01:00
Brighton Station/Queens Road closed 19:00-01:00

Buses from the west will be turning at Churchill Square

Eastbound buses terminating in Western Road will operate via Montpelier Road, Upper North Street and Dyke Road to Churchill Square.

Buses from the North will be turning at the Open Market

Services from Lewes Road & Elm Grove will terminate at the Open Market between 10:30 & 16:00 and restart services from the East side of the Level.

Services from Ditchling Road will terminate at the Open Market and restart from Union road

Closure of London Road from 21:00

Services from Lewes Road will not serve the Open Market but will serve St Peters Bus Lanes

Services from Ditchling Road & Elm Grove will serve the Open Market and not St Peters Bus Lanes

Services to Lewes Road/Elm Grove will use the bus lanes and then serve the Level Bus Stop

Services using Ditchling Road will use the bus lanes then serve the temporary stop in Union Road


Buses from the East and Coast Road Services
All services will terminate at either Park Street or the Bingo Hall between 10:30 & 14:30.
For the entire day when open, all services that serve the Sealife Centre will divert Via Lower Rock Gardens & Edward Street.
Any Service that serves St James Street will use Edward Street all day.
Any passengers that use the Sealife stop or St James Street should go to Edward Street American Express stop.





Routes 1/1A
Between 10:30 & 14:30, buses will operate between Mile Oak & Churchill Square and between Eastern Road (Upper Bedford Street) & Whitehawk only.
No services will use St James’ Street

Routes 2/2A
Between 10:30 & 14:30 these services will operate between Steyning/Shoreham and Churchill Square & Woodingdean and Brighton College (Freshfield Way) Only.
Due to the closure of St James’ Street all Eastbound Services will use Edward Street

Routes 5/5A/5B from Patcham & Hollingbury to Hangleton

Preston Road between Preston Drove & Stanford Avenue is Closed all day.
Before 10:15 service 5 & 5A will operate non-stop Via Preston Drove & Beaconsfield Villas.
Service 5 & 5B between 10:15 & 16:00 will have a service to the Open Market Only
Service 5B will not operate along Carden Avenue

From 16:00 all service 5, 5A & 5B will operate via Preston Drove, Fiveways and To London Road.
From 21:00 services 5, 5A & 5B will serve the Open market and not St Peters Bus Lanes
Between 10:30 & 14:30 all services will operate from Clarence Square to Hangleton
Between 14:30 & 16:00 all services will operate from Old Steine to Hangleton

Routes 5/5A/5B from Hangleton to Patcham & Hollingbury
Preston Road between Preston Drove & Stanford Avenue is Closed all day.
Before 10:30 service 5 &5A will operate Non Stop from Springfield Road via Beaconsfield Villas & Preston Drove.
Between 10:30 & 16:00 a service will operate between Union road & Patcham and Braybon Rd
Between 10:30 & 14:30 all service will terminate at Clarence Square
Between 14:30 & 16:00 all service will terminate at the Old Steine
Between 16:00 & 21:00 all services will operate from London road via Ditchling Road and Preston Road to resume normal route
From 21:00 services will not serve London Road and will operate via Union road Ditchling Road and Preston Drove

Route 6
Between 10:30 and 14:30 services to Brighton Station go via Montpelier Road & 7 Dials, return journeys via Buckingham Road, Dyke Road & normal route from Churchill Square.
From 19:00 all services will terminate & start from the Old Steine.

Route 7
Between 10:30 until 14:30 this service will operate between George Street and Brighton Station only.

Between 10:30 & 14:30 Services to/from the Marina will operate between the Marina and Eastern Road (Upper Bedford Street).

From 19:00 until 01:00 this service will not serve Brighton Station instead will serve Dyke Road & Imperial Arcade


Routes 12/12A/13X
All services will operate Via Rock Gardens & Edward Street in Both Directions due to the closure of the Sealife Roundabout
Between 10:30 & 14:30, all services will start and terminate at Park Street.
From 19:00 all services will terminate/start from Imperial Arcade due to the closure of Queens Road and Brighton Station

Routes 14/14B
All services will operate Via Rock Gardens & Edward Street in Both Directions due to the closure of the Sealife Roundabout
Between 10:30 & 14:30, all services will start and terminate at Park Street.
From 19:00 all services will terminate/start from Imperial Arcade due to the closure of Queens Road and Brighton Station

Route 18
This route will be suspended between 10:30 & 14:45.
From 19:00 service will terminate at Imperial Arcade and restart at Churchill Square.

Route 21
Between 10:30 & 16:00, buses from the Marina will terminate at the Open Market.
Buses from Goldstone Valley terminate at Churchill Square & a revised timetable applies on these journeys.
From 21:00 due to the closure of London Road this service will not serve the Open Market but will serve St Peters Church Bus Lanes

Route 22
Between 10:30 & 16:00 all services with terminate at the open Market & restart from the East side of the Level.
From 21:00 due to the closure of London Road this service will not serve the Open Market but will serve St Peters Church Bus Lanes

Route 23
Normal service all day

Route 25
Between 10:30 & 15:50 services will terminate at Lewes Road Garage.

Route 24
Between 10:30 & 16:00 services will terminate at the Open Market & restart from the East Side of the Level.
From 21:00 this service will not serve the Open Market but will serve St Peters Bus lane Southbound.
Northbound will not serve London road & Oxford Street

Route 26 / 46
Between 10:30 & 16:00 services will terminate at the Open Market & restart in Union Road
From 21:00 this service will not serve the St Peters Bus Lanes

Route 27
Services will operate via Edward Street & Rock gardens all day
Between 10:30 & 14:30 services from Saltdean will start & terminate at Park Street
Between 10:30 & 14:30 service from Westdene will terminate and start at Brighton Station
From 19:00 all service will operate via Imperial Arcade and Dyke Road.

Routes 28/29
Buses to/from Tunbridge Wells, Heathfield, Eastbourne, Ringmer and Lewes will terminate /start from Lewes Road Bus Garage between 10:30 & 16:00.

Route 46 (Southwick)
Between 10:30 & 16:00 services from Hollingbury will terminate at the Open Market and restart in Union Road.
Between 10:30 & 14:30 services from Southwick will terminate at Churchill Square
From 14:30-16:00 services from Southwick will terminate at Old Steine.
From 21:00 services from Hollingbury will not serve the St Peters Bus lanes
From 21:00 services from Southwick will operate via Union road to Ditchling Road

Route 48
Between 10:30 and 16:00 services will terminate at the Open Market and Restart from the East side of the Level.
From 21:00 services from Bevendean will not serve the Open Market
From 21:00 services to Bevendean will not serve London Road and will operate via the East Side of the Level

Route 49
Between 10:30 and 16:00 services will terminate at the Open Market and Restart from the East side of the Level.
Between 10:30 & 1600 services from Portslade Station will terminate at Churchill Square
From 21:00 services from Moulsecoomb will not serve the Open Market
From 21:00 services to Moulsecoomb will not serve London Road and will operate via the East Side of the Level

Route 50
Between 10:30 & 16:00 services will terminate at the Open Market and restart in Union Road.
From 21:00 services from Hollingdean will not serve the St Peters Bus Lanes.
From 21:00 service to Hollingdean will not serve London Road and will operate via the East side of the Level & Union Road to Ditchling Road

Route 77
This service will not operate from the Pier all day.
Between 10:30 and 14:30 this service will start and terminate at Brighton Station with a revised timetable in operation
From 14:45 the service will start & terminate at the Old Steine

Route 78
Between 10:30 & 16:00 this service will start from the East Side of the Level and terminate at the Open Market.

Route 79
Between 10:30 & 16:00 this service will start from Union road and terminate at the Open Market.

First trip to start from Old Steine, Brighton Station should be open at 01:00

Service unchanged, may be short notice diversions in the London Road Area

N7

First N7 trip diverted away from Brighton Station, all eastbound services to use Edward Street

N12/N14

All services to use Edward Street & Rock Gardens in both Directions
